- The remote side, according to them is: "A Cisco AS5100, which is 48 USR 28.8k
- digital modems and 3 Cisco 2511 terminal servers in one box. They are fed
- via two T1 digital lines." This is a university's facility for ppp access.
-
- My side is a ZyXEL 1496E attached to a Mac (home). When I have the speaker on, I
- do hear answer tones, but a connnection is never established.
-
- At work, I also have another ZyXEL 1496E attached to a HP 9000/735 unix
- box. This modem will connect successfully, but only at 2400 baud. I tried
- moving this modem to the home Mac, but still did not get a connection.
-
- At work, I also have a PowerMac with a Geoport modem. This will connect
- successfully at 14400 baud.
-
- The Zyxels and Geoport all easily talk to each other. The problem is only
- when connecting to the university's USR modems.
-
- Thanks for any help.
